DESCRIPTION:From May 1-2\, 2024\, McGill and the Consulate General of the F
 ederal Republic of Germany will co-host the Sparwasser Arctic Climate Chan
 ge Forum. The Forum is named in honour of Germany's Ambassador to Canada\,
  Sabine Sparwasser\, who has been a key supporter of circumpolar research 
 and international collaboration throughout her ambassadorship\, which come
 s to an end in 2024. The goal of the Forum is to profile circumpolar resea
 rch and explore opportunities for international collaboration in the Arcti
 c research.\n\nThe Forum will include panels and breakout discussions\, po
 ster displays\, and networking events. On May 2\, a public lecture entitle
 d\, Arctic Ocean: What Lives Under the Ice\, will be delivered by Antje Bo
 etius\, Director of the Alfred Wegener Institute\, Professor at the Univer
 sity of Bremen and Group leader of the Joint Research Group for Deep-Sea E
 cology and Technology at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology.
