DESCRIPTION:On May 15\, the Government of Canada announced the Canada Resea
 rch Continuity Emergency Fund (CRCEF) as part of its COVID-19 Economic Res
 ponse Plan. This temporary\, needs-based program is helping to sustain res
 earch enterprises at Canadian universities and health research institution
 s during the pandemic.\n\nThe CRCEF is entering Stage 3 of its mandate\, w
 hich is the final phase. This portion of the program provides a notional a
 llocation of at least $9.3 million to McGill and its six affiliated health
  research institutions for eligible expenses related to research activitie
 s affected by COVID-19. Stage 3 of CRCEF allows for claims against a much 
 broader source of research funding than Stage 1\, including expenses cover
 ed by Tri-Agency funding as well as charitable and industry funding.\n\nRe
 search and Innovation invites researchers and administrators to a virtual 
 town hall on October 13 at 3 p.m.\, where we will provide additional infor
 mation and clarifications related to the CRCEF. Please read the CRCEF webs
 ite carefully in advance and come with your specific questions\, suggestio
