DESCRIPTION:The Office of Sponsored Research is pleased to invite McGill re
 searchers and administrators to an information session on the upcoming SSH
 RC Connection Grants competition.\n\nThe information session will include:
 \n\n·       A brief presentation about the requirements of the Connection 
 Grants by the Office of Sponsored Research\;\n\n·       Presentations from
  Prof. Alanna Thain (Institute for Gender\, Sexuality and Feminist Studies
 ) and Prof. Philip S.S. Howard (Integrated Studies in Education)\, \, who 
 will share their insights and experiences as peer reviewers and successful
  awardees\;\n\n·       A question and answer period. \n\n \n\nPlease RSVP 
 online by Tuesday\, March 13\, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. \n\nBackground:\n\nConne
 ction Grants support workshops\, colloquiums\, conferences\, forums\, summ
 er institutes or other events or outreach activities geared toward short-t
 erm\, targeted knowledge mobilization initiatives. These events and activi
 ties represent opportunities to exchange knowledge and to mobilize researc
 h with those participating.\n\nThese grants are typically valued at $7\,00
 0 to $50\,000 over one year\, with higher amounts considered on an excepti
 onal basis.\n\nAdditional support in the form of eligible cash and/or in-k
 ind contributions (excluding registration fees)\, equivalent to a minimum 
 of 50 per cent of the amount requested from SSHRC\, must come from sponsor
