DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the FRQSC’s Research Support for New Academics p
 rogram is to assist researchers who have just launched their careers to be
 come established as independent researchers\, and also more competitive na
 tionally and internationally.\n\nNew researchers in social sciences and hu
 manities\, arts and literature who are planning to apply to the upcoming F
 RQSC fall 2017 competition are encouraged to attend this information sessi
 on\, which will include:\n\n·       A brief presentation about the objecti
 ves and application requirements of the Research Support for New Academics
  program by Joanna Mastalerek and Maureen Donato\, Grants Officers\, Socia
 l Sciences and Humanities team at the Office of Sponsored Research\;\n\n· 
       presentations from Prof. Lauren Human (Department of Psychology) and
  Prof. Tove Holmes (Department of Languages\, Literatures\, and Cultures)\
 , who will share their experiences as grant awardees and reviewers under t
 his program and strategies for creating a successful proposal\;\n\n·      
  a question and answer period where participants will be encouraged to rai
 se any questions they may have about the program or the application proces
 s. Those who are unable to attend or who may not feel comfortable sharing 
 their questions are invited to send their inquiries to maureen [dot] donat
