 searchers\, graduate students and administrators to an information session
  about \n MITACS funding for social sciences and humanities research\nDate
 : Thursday\, September 3\, 2015\nTime: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.\nLocation:
  James Administration Building\, Room 302\n\n	Mitacs is a Canadian not-for-
 profit organization that offers research training opportunities for studen
 ts and postdocs\, and helps researchers to extend their international and 
 intersectoral research collaborations.\nOpen to all disciplines\, Mitacs h
 as recently included certain not-for-profit organizations and Crown corpor
 ations as eligible partners for collaborative research projects. This chan
 ge is especially relevant to researchers working in the social sciences an
 d humanities as potential collaborators may now originate from economic de
 velopment organizations\, industry associations\, and social welfare and c
 haritable organizations.\n	This information session\, hosted by Rebecca Rei
 ch\, Director of Business Development\, will present the numerous funding 
 opportunities Mitacs offers to graduate students\, postdoctoral fellows an
 d researchers in the social sciences and humanities\, and provide details 
 on projects that have successfully used these programs.\n	Discussion will c
 enter on the following programs:\n \n·         Mitacs Accelerate and Eleva
 te  \nThrough the Mitacs Accelerate and Mitacs Elevate programs\, graduate
  students and postdoctoral fellows lead and undertake a research project r
 elevant to an industry or non-for-profit partner. This on-site research is
  expected to account for approximately 50% of the intern's time during the
  period of the internship. The intern will then spend the remaining time a
 t his/her home university with their supervising professor\, evaluating th
 e best techniques or methodologies to be applied to the identified researc
 h issue.\n·         Mitacs Globalink\nThe Mitacs Globalink program provide
 s funding for bi-lateral student exchanges to and from countries such as B
 razil\, China\, France\, Germany\, India\,  Mexico\, Saudi Arabia\, Tunisi
 a\, Vietnam\, Germany\, Australia\, Japan\, Israel and South Korea.  Proje
 cts can range between 3-6 months and involve university or industrial rese
 arch projects.\nWe will accept questions ahead of time so that information
  can be incorporated into the session\, and to help guide discussion.For t
