Grant Writing Workshop for SSHRC Insight Development Grants
The Office of Sponsored Research is pleased to invite McGill researchers to a Grant Writing Workshop for the upcoming SSHRC Insight Development Grants competition.

11:30 am – 11:40 am:
The first part of the presentation is addressed to researchers who are applying for the first time to SSHRC, explaining the services provided by the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR), the OSR checklist and how applications are processed internally, including a brief question & answer period.
11:40 am – 11:45 am: Coffee break
11:45 am – 1:30 pm:
- Presentation about the objectives and requirements of the Insight Development Grants including the new Canadian Common CV and the newly launched SSHRC online platform;
- Presentation by Prof. Marguerite Deslauriers (Department of Philosophy), who served as a Committee member at the last Insight Development Grants competition and will provide insider information about the peer review system and strategies for creating successful research proposals;
- Question & Answer session;
For participants who may not feel comfortable asking a question during the session or might not be able to attend the workshop, we invite you to send your questions in advance to joanna.mastalerek [at] mcgill.ca (Joanna Mastalerek), who will include them in the question and answer period.
The Office of Sponsored Research will offer an internal application guide for this funding opportunity, which will be distributed at the workshop.
