DESCRIPTION:The Canada Council for the Arts is coordinating visits to unive
 rsities to provide information and advice on the Killam Program. \nA repre
 sentative from the Canada Council for the Arts will give a general present
 ation on the Killam Program. The presentation will include historical and 
 statistical information\, explanations on eligibility and application requ
 irements\, tips on how to improve one's application and information on the
  electronic filing process. The presentation will be followed by a general
  question period. Individuals will be available to meet with the represent
 ative after the presentation to discuss their individual cases. \nResearch
 ers who anticipate submitting an application to the 2014 Killam Research F
 ellowship competition are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting as ar
 e potential nominators and/or nominees for the 2014 Killam Prize.\nKillam 
 Research Fellowships are offered on a competitive basis to support disting
 uished Canadian researchers\, normally full professors in Canadian univers
 ities\, in any of the following broad fields: humanities\, social sciences
 \, natural sciences\, health sciences\, engineering and studies linking an
 y of the disciplines within these broad fields. Canadian citizens or perma
 nent residents of Canada may hold the Fellowships. The Fellowships provide
  two years of full release from teaching and administrative duties. The fe
 llowship funds are paid to the university or research institute that emplo
 ys the fellow to relieve him or her of all teaching and administrative res
 ponsibilities while continuing to pay the fellow’s full salary and benefit
 s during the entire period of the fellowship. \nKillam Prizes: Up to five 
 prizes of $100\,000 each are given annually to eminent Canadian scholars i
 n recognition of distinguished career achievement in the natural sciences\
 , health sciences\, engineering\, social sciences and humanities respectiv
 ely. Nominees must be Canadian citizens.\nFor more information please cons
