DESCRIPTION:The purpose of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Coun
 cil (SSHRC) Insight Development Grant Program is to support research in it
 s initial stages\, for up to two years\, for both emerging and established
  scholars in the social sciences and humanities.\n\nResearchers who are pl
 anning to apply to the upcoming SSHRC Insight Development Grants competiti
 on in February 2025 are encouraged to attend this information session\, wh
 ich will include:\n\n\n	A presentation about the program objectives\, appli
 cation requirements\, review process\, and application strategies\, by Jea
 n-Christophe Cusson and Preeti Purba-Singh (Grants and Agreements Officers
  - OSR).\n\n\n \n\n\n	Presentations from Prof. Elena Obukhova (Associate Pr
 ofessor\, McGill Desautels Faculty of Management) and Prof. Gal Gvili (Ass
 ociate Professor\, East Asian Studies)\, SSHRC merit review committee memb
 ers. \n\n\n \n\nBoth presenters will share information about the SSHRC IG 
 evaluation and merit system and strategies for preparing a successful prop
 osal.\n\n \n\n\n	A question-and-answer period where participants may raise 
 additional questions about the program or the application and review proce
 ss.\n\n\nThose who are unable to attend or who may not feel comfortable sh
 aring their questions during the session should email their inquiries in a
 dvance to preeti.purba-singh [at] mcgill.ca (Preeti Purba-Singh).\n\nPleas
