Sommet de Montréal sur l’innovation 2018

 Call for early expressions of interest

IMPORTANT NOTE: This call is open to McGill faculty members, to McGill PhD and Postdocs who are part of a research group or center, and their industry and community partners

The Quartier de l’innovation (QI) is hosting its annual Sommet de Montréal sur l’innovation on May 23rd, 2018 in the context of C2 Montréal with the intention of bringing together teams of Montreal-based researchers, small and medium sized industry, and community partners to discuss the social impacts of their existing projects. The discussion and activities will center around best practices for collaboration, how to measure social impact, and in the creation of a white paper on these topics.

As a university member of the QI, McGill is looking for expressions of interest from McGill-based teams who would like to participate in this event. This is open to teams in all disciplines (biomedical and health science, natural science and engineering, and social sciences and humanities). Advantages to participating include:

  • Free access to the full-day summit and to the C2 Montreal 2018 conference events on the same day (which runs concurrently with this event);
  • The opportunity to explore the topic of social impacts of research alongside a carefully curated group of like-minded researchers and stakeholders;

  • The opportunity to shape a white paper that will be circulated to government bodies and funding agencies;

  • The opportunity to highlight your team and partners in front of important members of the Montreal and international community.

At this stage, McGill is seeking to nominate teams to participate in this event who meet the following criteria:

  • Are composed of a McGill researcher, a small and medium sized industry, and a community/clinical/not for profit partner

  • Are willing to participate, in either French or English, at the different sessions, workshops and activities of the Summit (program to be announced soon).

If you are interested in participating, please email Lauren Clark (lauren.clark [at] (subject: Sommet%20de%20Montr%C3%A9al%20sur%20l%E2%80%99innovation%202018) ) with the following information by February 1:

The summit organizers will follow-up with nominated teams to provide further details and confirm availability.
