McGill University welcomed today the adoption of the law on the ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie (MESRST), which will allow the official creation of the ministry.
With the generous support of the Richard and Edith Strauss Foundation, Montreal-based research groups announce the formation of the Montreal Cochlear Implant Research Network. The network currently comprises the Department of Otolaryngology at McGill, the Centre for Research on Brain, Language and Music (CRBLM) at McGill, the Centre de Recherche en Neuropsychologie et Cognition (CERNEC) at Université de Montréal, and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal (CRIR).

A memo sent to researchers on November 18 incorrectly stated that RIR and OSR will be closed from December 23 to January 3 inclusive. In fact, Research and International Relations (RIR), including the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR), will remain open on December 23, December 24, and January 3. The University, including RIR and OSR, is closed from December 25 to January 2.
