Tetley tees off

Caption follows

Law Professor William Tetley signs a copy of his new book for former Quebec Premier Bernard Landry.

As was reported in a variety of French- and English-language media outlets, Law Professor William Tetley made some waves with the recent launch of his new book The October Crisis, 1970: An Insider's View. In the book, the former Quebec Liberal cabinet minister doesn't mince words. He takes former Parti Québécois (PQ) leader René Lévesque to task both for criticizing the federal government for its implementation of the War Measures Act during the October Crisis and for not coming down hard enough on the violence perpetrated by the Front de Libération du Québec.

Tetley suggested that the mistakes during the crisis were due primarily to the fledgling PQ's ranks being filled with neophytes who systematically opposed all measures taken by the provincial Liberals.
