DESCRIPTION:By Kyle Elliot (Canada Research Chair in Arctic Ecology\, Natur
al Resource Sciences\, McGill).\n\nWild birds can act as barometers for ec
osystem health\, but decoding information provided by bird populations is
challenging. We are using the world's smallest bird-borne marine cameras\,
accelerometers\, GPS loggers and other gizmos to monitor the changing hea
lth of our planet. By following wild birds into remote deep sea and polar
environments\, we are learning about the birds themselves and the ecosyste
ms they inhabit\, and how both are responding to a changing environment.
\n\nYou can view it on McGill's Youtube channel here.\n
