The RCN was honoured to have the CEOs of its three partner hospitals (from left to right: Dr. Lawrence Rosenberg (CIUSSS Centre-Ouest-de-l'Île-de Montréal), Dr. PIerre Gfeller (McGill University Health Centre) and Ms. Lynne McVey (CIUSSS Ouest-de-l'Île-de Montréal) on hand to speak about the importance of collaborating to improve trajectories of care.

Keynote speaker Dr. Monika Krzyzanowska of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre provided input on patient-centered models to manage symptoms during cancer treatment.

The RCN's International Advisory Board member, Dr Joe Jacobson of Dana-Farber Cancer Centre, provides feedback about trajectories of care.

Close to 210 health care professionals, researchers and patients turned out to discuss ways to improve quality and harmonize care across the RCN partner hospitals. 

Carmen Loiselle, Director of the McGill Cancer Nursing Program, presented her research on the impact of nurse navigators on the patient experience.

Patient advocate Ekaterina Tsimberis highlights the importance of using patient-reported outcomes to guide patient care. 

Lucie Tardif, nursing director for the MUHC Cancer Care Mission discusses the challenges of integrating trajectories of care for lung cancer patients. 

Dr Ari Meguerditchian, lead of the RCN's Cancer Quality & Innovation Program, discusses upcoming funding opportunities and how to maximize your chances of having your project make the cut. 

Maya Jeanty, clinical unit director for oncology at St. Mary`s Hospital Center discussed the impact that RCN bursaries for certification and specialized training have had on nursing staff.

RCN Retreat 2018

The Rossy Cancer Network held its 4th Annual Retreat at Centre Mont-Royal in Montreal on November 16, 2018 and the day was a resounding success!

Close to 210 physicians, nurses, allied health professionals,  researchers and patient representatives came together to review the work undertaken in the network in the past year and to provide input on the direction of initiatives that will affect trajectories of care, surgical quality, as well as optimizing access to clinical trials and to nurse navigators (IPOs).

Guest speaker Dr. Monika Krzyzanowska from Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, chair of the 2018 ASCO Quality of Care symposium and past Clinical Lead for Quality Care and Access at Cancer Care Ontario discussed solutions for re-engineering models of care to better manage patient symptoms during treatment.
