Joseph Jacobson

JOSEPH JACOBSON is the Chief Quality Officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and an Associate Clinical Professor at Harvard Medical School. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology and holds a Masters in Science (Clinical Effectiveness).  Dr. Jacobson’s role at DFCI is to oversee the quality of care on the main campus and network locations, with responsibility for medical, surgical, radiation and pediatric oncology. 

He was among the founding members of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) “Quality Oncology Practice Initiative” (QOPI) and co-led the development of the ASCO/Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Administration Safety Standards, which define best practices for chemotherapy administration nationally.  He is the Chair of the QOPI Certification Program.
