Message from the Chief

St. Mary’s Hospital’s Department of Psychiatry offers a structured training program assuring core teaching and exposure to a diversity of patients. Because St. Mary’s is a relatively small community hospital, the department offers a unique opportunity for close supervision and mentoring of trainees and for specialized training in Community Psychiatry and Shared Care following the Recovery Model. The patient’s best interest is the department’s primary preoccupation, and conflicts are solved in response to the question: What interdisciplinary team interventions will best succeed for this patient and his/her personal entourage?
