Associate Provost (Academic Priorities and Resource Allocation)

As Associate Provost (Academic Priorities and Resource Allocation), Prof. McClure assists Faculties and administrative units with strategic planning, including the completion of the annual Agreements process and Faculty Compact allocations, ensuring that resource allocation aligns with the University’s academic priorities. Together with the Associate Provost, Equity and Academic Policies, Prof. McClure serves as co-steward of the Academic Personnel Office, with particular responsibility for academic recruitment and the University’s academic renewal plan, as well as management of the Canada Research Chair (CRC) and Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) programs and the internally-awarded William Dawson Scholar Awards, the James Professorships and Distinguished James McGill Professorships. Prof. McClure is also Executive co-sponsor of the University’s R2R Project, and Chair of the Senate Committee on Libraries.

Ghyslaine McClure is Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics, in the Faculty of Engineering. Her work focuses on the development of seismic functionality assessment methods adapted to existing post-critical buildings (schools, hospitals and community centres designated as emergency shelters) in the Montreal area. She also performs research into computational investigation of wind-structure interaction problems.
