Announcement on Fall 2021 Convocation ceremonies

October 22, 2021

Dear members of the McGill community,

I write to announce that – following the Government of Quebec’s recent easing of restrictions on indoor gatherings – we can now say with certainty that the Fall 2021 Convocation ceremonies will be held in person.

On November 25th and 26th, it will be our pleasure to hold the Convocation ceremonies at Place des Arts, to celebrate the Fall of 2021 graduating class and their impressive accomplishments in the company of their classmates, family and friends. For more information, and to find out the exact day and time of your ceremony, we invite you to visit the Convocation website.

Fall 2021 ceremonies will look a bit different than in-person convocations of the past. Among other measures, proof of vaccination and masks will both be required. Graduates are invited to check the Convocation website on a regular basis for the most up-to-date information and regulations.

This Fall’s ceremonies will only include the Fall 2021 Convocation cohort. We are, however, actively planning the in-person ceremonies our past cohorts so richly deserve, the first of which will take place this Spring 2022. Invitations to Spring 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 graduates will be sent in the coming months.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our recent graduating students — both this cohort and those who celebrated virtually over the course of the pandemic. You have worked incredibly hard and achieved so much despite unprecedented challenges. I look forward to celebrating those achievements alongside you all soon.

Principal and Vice-Chancellor
