Dear McGill students:
Universities are committed to the free and full exchange of ideas, which includes taking an active role in the democratic process.
I am pleased that McGill has been selected to participate in an Elections Canada pilot project to make it easier for Canadian students to vote in the 2015 federal election—including students who wish to vote for a candidate in their home riding. From October 5 to 8, students will be able to vote at two temporary Elections Canada offices on McGill’s downtown campus; you can find the details about these special offices, as well as information about regular and advance polling stations, at the McGill Reporter.
As Canadians, electoral participation is both our right and our responsibility. Your voice is crucial for the well-being of our democracy. I encourage you to vote and to make your voice heard.
