 ata Management and Reproducibility Workshop'. As reproducibility of social
  science research is becoming an increasing concern\, data management is b
 ecoming even more important. This one-day workshop is designed to leave yo
 u with a solid foundation for creating and sharing reproducible quantitati
 ve social science projects.\n\nPlease note that space is limited so make s
 ure to sign up as soon as possible with the link below. Priority will be g
 iven to CPD students and McGill Sociology students until March 15th.\n\nRE
 GISTER HERE\n\nAbstract\n\nThis one-day workshop should give you a solid f
 oundation for creating and sharing a reproducible quantitative social scie
 nce projects. You will learn about version control\, data citations and de
 posits\, and curating a reproducible repository. You will practice using t
 he actual tools through exercises meant to walk you through the basics of 
 the concepts introduced.\n\nOutline: We will go through all the necessary 
 steps for creating a reproducible research product. We will discuss the fo
 llowing topics:\n\n1. Finding\, describing\, accessing and sharing dataset
 s to enhance reproducibility\n\n2. Data management plans/planning\n\n3. Re
 producible work and code\n\nEach topic has a number of sub-topics and we w
 ill work through exercises using tools consistent with best practices in e
 ach topic.\n\nLocation\n\nThis is an in-person event held in Education Bui
 lding\, 3700 McTavish Street\, Room 624.\n\nInstructor\n\n\n\nDr. Grant Gi
 bson received his Ph.D. in economics in 2018 from McMaster university. Sin
 ce then he has been working in research management at the Canadian Researc
 h Data Centre Network (CRDCN for short). He has published in journals such
  as Health Economics\, Social Science & Medicine\, and Data Science (pendi
 ng\, but I think it'll be there by the summer). He is involved in a number
  of Pan-Canadian initiatives around data management and is a member of the
  RDM (Research Data Management) network of experts. His research work gene
 rally involves unwieldy datasets from multiple sources.\n
