My path towards medicine followed a winding course from biochemistry to research to teaching and, finally, to medical school/residency in Pediatrics! My original plan to enter medicine after my undergraduate degree was diverted into research due to, of all things, a summer job; since then, I’ve worked in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Molecular Oncology labs, most recently completing a PhD in breast cancer research. As a former CEGEP teacher, I have the incredible opportunity to see my former students in all areas of healthcare and have worked with nurses, nutritionists, medical students, and residents who used to be in my classes! In my free time (do residents have free time?), I love making things by hand and spending time outdoors, I am learning to embroider and hope to get back into Dragonboating soon. I love Montreal and, as I’ve lived here more than 15 years, I think I can now safely cast my vote on the city’s best bagels: St Viateur > Fairmont ;)
