Marianne Sofronos

Marianne is a doctoral nursing student in McGill’s Ingram School of Nursing, where she is supervised by Franco Carenvale and David Wright (U Ottawa), and mentored by Mary Ellen Macdonald. She started in 2016 and expects to complete her degree by 2022. Her doctoral thesis, An ethnography of neuropalliative care, is examining the ways in which neuropalliative care is experienced by patients and families, provided by clinicians, and conceptualized by scientists and researchers. Marianne is funded by a Doctoral Training Scholarship from the Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS), as well as the SADA Award, McGill University School of Nursing ($250) and GREAT Travel Awards, McGill University School of Nursing ($1350).
