Chris conducts research in the areas of bereavement and life transition, family caregivers in palliative care, psychosocial training for palliative physicians, constructivist psychotherapy, as well as cross-cultural organizational practices in palliative care. His recent publications concern meaning-focused bereavement psychotherapy and clinician self-care. He serves on the thesis committee of several doctoral students in applied psychology, and he is a member of the International Palliative Care Family Carer Research Collaboration.
