The speed of COVID-19 news is fast-paced as is the search for a treatment. Which is why Dr. Paul Offit, Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Vaccine Education Center at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, is back on this week's "COVID & More". We will discuss the recent report of a patient getting infected twice with SARS-CoV-2, the Russian vaccine, the China vaccine, President Trump rushing to produce a vaccine before it is ready...and any other topics that arise between now and air time.
Dr. Offit has published more than 160 papers in medical and scientific journals in the areas of rotavirus-specific immune responses and vaccine safety. He is also the co-inventor of the rotavirus vaccine recommended for universal use in infants by the CDC.
"COVID & More: Conversations with the McGill Office for Science and Society" are interactive webcasts that are streamed live on the OSS Facebook Page and YouTube Channel. Topics focus on many of the questions surrounding COVID-19 as well as other current science topics. Viewers can submit questions in real-time.
All webcasts can be found on the "COVID & More" playlist on the McGill OSS YouTube channel.
Conversations are moderated by McGill OSS Director Joe Schwarcz and include the OSS team and various guests.
