Student Lounges

Arts Lounge & Computer Lab

Location: in the basement of the Leacock Building

Lounge Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am-9:30pm.

*Please note that the Lounge is closed whenever the Leacock building is closed, including holidays.*

The Arts Lounge is your space to relax between classes, meet with friends, play a game of pool, and scramble to finish a paper! We have 23 couches, 2 meeting rooms, 25 computer workstations (PC), a pool table, a chalkboard wall, board games, bookcases full of student journals, and more. This is also the home of the Arts Undergraduate Society office. On Thursday evenings, the Arts Lounge is transformed into a bar – Bar des Arts!

Students who pay the Arts Undergraduate Improvement Fund fee (ARIF Fee) have card access to the Arts Lounge

Biology Students' Lounge

Location: located in the Stewart Biology Building S3/6B

This is the McGill Biology Student Union headquarters. Equipped with luxurious couches, an array of board games (Bananagrams anyone?), and a trusty microwave, it's the best of your apartment minus the sketchy landlord. Striking the delicate balance between business and pleasure, swing by to rent a locker, grab a cuppa joe, buy NTCs, or veg out between classes.

Chemistry Students' Lounge

Location: in the basement of the Otto Maass building in the Holmes Room

The Chemistry undergraduate student lounge is where many students relax and study between classes.
Computer Science Students’ Lounge

Location: TR1060 lounge near the Trottier Cafeteria

Lounge Hours: Monday - Friday 10am-1pm 

A place to solve problems, ask questions or just hangout.

Education Lounge

Location: Room 631 of the Education Building

All students in the Education Faculty, including students in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education have access to the Education Lounge where they can hangout and study.

Engineering Lounge

The Engineering Common Room is the centre of many a large activity. Whether it be Blues’ Pub on Friday, dance lessons during the week, studying with friends, or watching the big screen TV, the Common Room is open to all engineering students at McGill. You can even book the room for your own events!

Geography Students’ Lounge

Location: Burnside Hall room 305

Here events are held such as weekly Coffee and Cookies, as well as Harvest and Winter challenges, pumpkin carving, pizza and movie nights, and more. You can also just drop in to relax and say hi, use the kettle, or take a quick nap!
International Development Students' Lounge

Location: IDSSA Office in the Leacock Building room LEA B31

We’re located in the Leacock basement, across from the elevators and the Arts Undergraduate Society Lounge. The office is open to all International Development Studies students as a lounge and study space during office hours!

Management Students Lounge

Mathematics Student Lounge

Medical Students Lounge

Location: The Lady Meredith Annex in the Lady Meredith Building

Lounge Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am-11pm

The Lady Meredith Annex is a common meeting place for members of the McGill Medical Student’s Society (MSS). It is a place where students can study, organize meetings and activities or just unwind and relax. It is meant to be a welcoming and safe space. Every med student may access it with his student ID from 7 AM to 11 PM everyday.
Physics’ Student Lounge

Location: Rutherford Physics Building Room 117 and the Undergraduate Study Space is in room 116

Physics students can relax in the undergraduate lounge located in the Rutherford Physics building. Physics students can also enjoy the use of computers, a microwave, couches, workspace and a foosball table in the lounge. Students looking for a quiet place to study can use the undergraduate study room next to the lounge.
Nursing Graduate Student Lounge

The Graduate Student Lounge is a closed space reserved for Graduate students’ use. It includes sofas, study tables, 2 computers, a whiteboard and a kitchen (2 microwaves, 1 sink, 2 coffee makers, a water heater). You’ll also find heaps of free tea and coffee, please consider donating some spare change in our jar to help us replenish the supply!

Post-Graduates Student Society Thompson House

Desautels Doctorate Students Society Lounge

Location: 5th Floor of the Bronfman Building

This lounge is exclusively for PhD students, professors and research centres.

This state-of-the-art floor includes a display wall and touchscreen monitor to showcase the latest published research, books, and awards, as well as comfortable offices for PhD students and professors, which are optimally designed to facilitate brainstorming. The spacious meeting room acts as a research space for all areas and is also used to run experiments by the Marketing area.

McGill Office of Religious & Spiritual Life

Location: Located on the second floor of the Presbyterian College on University

Lounge Hours: Monday - Friday 10am-4pm

Our Interfaith Lounge features large windows, a cozy seating area, meditative colouring books, lots of plants and natural light.This is a religion-and-spirituality positive space for dialogue on spiritual practice and well-being. While you are here, please take time to engage with others, share your favorite book (or browse our in-house library), or simply do some meditative colouring on your own or with a friend!We hope you will use this space and resources to find meaning beyond academics and to form healthy life habits that invite spiritual well-being and inner peace. Get inspired by talking to the person next to you! Learn how others incorporate spiritual practice into their lives. We uphold mutual respect and embrace our diversity. All are welcome – whether you come from a particular religious tradition or none at all, you have a place here with us!
