Dr. Carmen G. Loiselle has been elected into the prestigious Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS)

The distinguished organization brings Canada’s top-ranked health and biomedical scientists and scholars together to make a positive impact on the urgent health concerns of Canadians. Their mandate is to evaluate Canada’s most complex health challenges and recommend strategic, and actionable solutions.

Dr. Loiselle joined the New Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) at the Induction Ceremony held on Thursday, September 19, 2019, in Ottawa. The ceremony gathered elected members from all disciplines across Canadian universities, including 11 from McGill University (see the full list here), healthcare and research institutes.

CAHS is formed after the National Academy of Medicine (formerly known as the Institute of Medicine) in the USA, to provide independent, objective, evidence-based analyses of health challenges that inform both public and private sectors in decision-making about policy, practice and investment.

This important distinction is now part of Dr. Carmen Loiselle extensive academic experience. She holds a Ph.D. (double major) in Psychology and Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. She is the current Associate Director, Research, at the Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN) and Professor at the ISoN and the Department of Oncology, as well as Program Director for Psychosocial Oncology and Oncology Nursing at McGill University.
