Rees Kassen Appointed as Academic Director for the McGill Sustainability Park
December 5, 2025 | Rees Kassen was recently appointed as the Academic Director for McGill’s Sustainability Park, which will take effect on January 1, 2026.
As Academic Director, Prof. Kassen will refine the strategic academic plan for the Park. He will be responsible for developing an academic roadmap that will guide current work, prior to the completion of the new spaces, and establish clear objectives for the first full year of operation. This includes the collaborative development of opportunities for scholarly engagement across the University and oversight of the Academic Community of Practice.
In this new role, Prof. Kassen will work with Teaching and Academic Planning; Research and Innovation; and faculty leadership to establish a comprehensive occupancy and research support strategy for the Park.
