Published: 28 May 2011

McGill University epidemiologist Margaret Becklake, business leaders Lino Saputo, Alvin Segal, Pauline Wong and economist Ruth Rose are among 33 people who are to receive the Ordre du Québec. The awards, first given in 1984 and considered Quebec's most prestigious honour, are to be handed out in Quebec City on June 15.

The highest rank of grand officer goes to Becklake, emeritus professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at McGill and a researcher at the Montreal Chest Institute; veteran actor Monique Miller; and Rosario Tremblay, a Mouvement Desjardins administrator who turned 100 last June.
