McGill hosts colloquium on inclusive education from July 18 to 21

Academics from around the world are gathering at McGill University next week to debate various educational policies. The four-day colloquium, called "Critical Analyses of Inclusive Education Policy — An International Survey," is being hosted by McGill's Faculty of Education from July 18 to 21.

Researchers from Hong Kong to Norway to North America will be presenting papers on various topics on July 19, 20 and 21, including:

  • The relationship between the government and academia in policy making;
  • The state of inclusive education;
  • The research base for policy;
  • The structure of decision making;
  • Future secondary teachers' beliefs and attitudes toward non-heterosexual students;
  • Turf wars between government and academia;
  • Kids in the crucible.

A conference extra — a graduate student forum — is being held on Sunday, July 18. The event will enable students to get comfortable with presenting papers and receiving valuable feedback from peers. Media are welcome to attend.
