50th annual meeting of Canadian Association of Geographers this week at McGill

The multifaceted and intriguing world of geography will be at the forefront this week as McGill plays host to the 50th annual meeting of the Canadian Association of Geographers from Tuesday, May 29, to Sunday, June 3.

During the event -- jointly organized by McGill, Concordia University and Université de Montréal -- some 500 geographers from across Canada will be examining issues that aren’t typically perceived as being on their professional map: from "The Feminization of Clerical Work in the Early 20th Century" to "The Montreal Duplex: Its Origins and Evolution."

About 100 topics in all will be discussed, ranging from "Geographic Variation in Cardiovascular Disease Mortality in Ontario" to "Evolution of the Suburban Neighbourhood Planning in the 20th Century."

All journalists are welcome to attend sessions of the Canadian Association of Geographers, which are taking place at McGill’s Burnside Hall, 805 Sherbrooke St. W. For a complete conference program, lecture times, room locations and topics, please consult this web site.
