Expert: Settlement in lawsuit against Meta

Meta Platforms will pay up to $18 billion to settle lawsuits in various U.S. states and territories alleging its platforms were designed to make children and teens addicted to them, while at the same time collecting information about them. It will also establish various safeguards for young users of Facebook and Instagram, including limits to the hours that they can spend online each day.
