Biography: 

Dr. Côté is a professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University. He is director of the MUHC Cerebrovascular Clinic and Medical Director of the MUHC stroke program.

He has been a member of the Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) for the POINT trial funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and co-Chair of the Canadian Stroke Best Practices Quality and Performance Advisory Committee supported by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Stroke Network and on the Editorial Boards of the journals Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases. He was co-Chair of the Canadian Stroke Congress in 2014 and 2015 and served on several other NIH stroke-related committees including the Steering Committee of the SPS3 trial and Outcomes committee for the IRIS trial. Dr. Côté was a member of the World Stroke Congress Scientific Committee for the international stroke meeting held in Montreal in 2018. Dr. Côté received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal awarded in 2012 for significant contributions and achievements by Canadians in their communities. In 2019, he was asked to chair a provincial Stroke Prevention committee to make recommendations to the Quebec Ministry of Health regarding management of acute TIA/mild strokes.
