The Neurological Hospital and Institute has a Patient’s Committee that meets every month and discusses and plans actions to improve the care of both in- and out-patients at The Neuro.
The 2017-2018 committee is composed of Mari-Jo Pires and Nicole Savoie as Co-Chairs, Elizabeth Pereira, Treasurer, Lia Moretti, Secretary, Falk Kyser and Mario DiCarlo, administrators. We are always looking for new members to assist this committee. If you are interested, please contact 514-934-1934, extension 31968.
This past year 2017-2018, the Committee has been involved in a Stroke Survey, done at the bedside of patients who suffered a stroke or related conditions. The survey took place between September and December 2017 and results were presented in February of 2018. The main intention of this survey was to obtain and gather information pertaining to the patients’ hospital experience, in view of improving services provided by the institution.
The Patient's Committee also coordinates the Greeting Committee. The Greeting Committee's volunteers greet newly hospitalized patients to answer any questions, and visit them during their stay to provide friendly support. Committee members wear dark blue coats and offer to help patients in many ways. Patients may also receive visits from Royal Victoria Hospital volunteers.
