Abstract: Autism is characterized by a striking male preponderance in prevalence. While nosological factors play a role in the underrepresentation of autistic females, factors related to biological sex and typical sexual differentiation have in recent years been increasingly considered, too. Here, I will present findings from my research into sex differences in different aspects of neural organization in autism (both structural and functional imaging modalities) and an overview of different methods to tap into the link between autism and typical sexual differentiation.

Bio2015: PhD at University of Cambridge in the Autism Research Centre with Simon Baron Cohen; 2015-2018: Autism Science Foundation Postdoc Fellowship, PostDoc at NYU Child Study Center with Adriana Di Martino and Mike Milham; 2018-2021: PostDoc at Statistical Imaging Group at Donders with Christian Beckmann; 2021-current: Marie Curie Individual Fellow at University of Zurich

The Feindel Brain and Mind (VBM) Seminar Series will advance the vision of Dr. William Feindel (1918–2014), Former Director of the Neuro (1972–1984), to constantly bridge the clinical and research realms. The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsychology, cognitive neuroscience, and neuroimaging.

Speakers will include scientists from across The Neuro, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide a virtual forum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdisciplinary exchanges on the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of brain and cognitive disorders.

***This lecture will be held virtually on zoom
