From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

"Why do I drink?" with Éduc'alcool (Online)

Offered by the Health and Wellness Program in collaboration with Éduc'alcool

In this conference, Geneviève Desautels, CEO of Éduc’alcool, a 35 year-old non-profit organization, will discuss alcohol consumption patterns based on motivation, context, and its effects on mental, physical, and social health. She will also emphasize the importance of making informed decisions about alcohol consumption while presenting the organization’s mission, vision, and governance.

Taking place just before the holidays—a time when alcohol consumption tends to rise— the purpose of the conference is to encourage attendees to reflect on their own consumption habits and visit the Éduc’alcool website to access helpful information and tools.

About the Speaker

Geneviève Desautels, CRHA, Distinction Fellow, ASC-C.Dir. MCC, MBA, is a distinguished expert with over 30 years of experience in her field. She spent 16 years in human resources across SMEs and major private and public companies before founding her own professional practice in 2010. Her focus has been on strategic planning and cultivating authentic and conscious leadership skills. Since January 1st, 2022, Geneviève has served as the Executive Manager of Educ'alcool, an organization dedicated to promoting responsible consumption decisions among Quebec's population.
