Research ethics

Researchers at the Schulich School of Music who are working with human subjects must obtain proper certification before recruiting subjects or collecting data.  McGill University has several Research Ethics Boards (REB) who review and approve research involving human subjects:

  • Research Ethics Board II serves researchers within the Schulich School of Music who are conducting research involving competent adults.
  • Research Ethics Board III reviews research proposals involving minors and adults not competent to consent.
