“The Shapeshifter’s Dilemma - Adaptability at the Expense of Individualism? How to develop your personal voice while trying to ‘fit in’.”

Steve will be discussing his approach to developing his personal sound organically after many years of being a sideman and then a leader in three cities (Montreal, London, Vancouver). He lived in Montreal in the ‘90’s (when he got his BMus and MMus from McGill), and then played in London for 8 years, and he has been in Vancouver for 10 year. He is the new coordinator of Jazz Studies at Capilano University in North Vancouver.
