Participation: Entrance is by audition (see audition schedules).  This ensemble is open to music students, and McGill University students from other faculties.

McGill Jazz Orchestra I

The McGill Jazz Orchestra I, under the direction of Juno award winning saxophonist and composer Christine Jensen, is of professional quality and has performed extensively both here in Canada and abroad.  The ensemble has released eight highly regarded CDs over the years and has performed with world-class visiting guest artists, including Joe Lovano, Slide Hampton, Danilo Perez and many others. The orchestra is dedicated to the performance of both traditional jazz masterworks and contemporary repertoire and regularly performs the music of Canadian composers and of McGill students and faculty.

McGill Jazz Orchestra II

The McGill Jazz Orchestra II, under the able direction of renowned trumpeter Ron Dilauro, is an award-winning performing ensemble in its own right and performs on a regular basis, both at McGill and around the Montreal area.
