Opera McGill marks 60 years of training, mentoring, and nurturing young artists with a celebratory season featuring an innovative Opera Binge Festival, with no less than seven one-act operas in 24 hours at multiple venues. Mozart’s one-act comedic gem of 1786, performed in English and German, is updated to 2017 by Patrick Hansen, who directs. With a score at once farcical and beautiful, this parody on the vanity of the opera “diva” is irresistible still today.

45 minutes; $10, includes coffee and a bagel before the opera.
