From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.


Du samedi 5 octobre au mardi 8 octobre, le campus du centre-ville et le campus Macdonald ne seront accessibles qu’aux étudiants et aux membres du personnel de l’Université McGill, ainsi qu’aux visiteurs essentiels. Undergraduate Admissions Dates and Deadlines

October 1

Undergraduate application opens for Fall 2025

January 15

Deadline to submit your applications:

  • Undergraduate music programs
  • Inter-faculty transfers (switching faculties within McGill)
  • Screening will not be required for Fall 2025 admission.

February 1

Deadline to upload or report:

  • Audition or Portfolio recordings
  • Self-report grades (Canadian and US high School applicants)
  • Upload transcripts (all other applicants, except CEGEP applicants)
  • Supporting materials (such as statement of intent, music background, if applying to composition, composition samples)
  • Music Education reference letter. The letter will be uploaded to McGill by the person submitting the letter of recommendation

February and March

  • On-campus auditions (dates will be posted in October/November)
  • Music entrance and academic scholarship consideration (you are automatically considered for music scholarships when you apply).
  • Sound Recording qualifying year applicants: If available, your sound recordings (mp3) are due by March 1st.

Early April

Admission decisions are released on a rolling basis, provided your application is complete.

May and June

If you receive an admission offer, let us know your decision before the deadline in your acceptance letter.
