Alain Desgagné was a member of the Victoria Symphony and the Winnipeg Symphony before joining the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal as Associate Principal Clarinet in 2001. He has been a guest at a number of festivals, such as the Marrowstone Music Festival (in Washington state) and the Symphony and Opera Academy of the Pacific in Powell River (British Columbia), as well as at the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. He was also principal clarinet with the National Orchestra of Italy in Martina Franca in 2006. He has been heard frequently on Radio Canada as a soloist and as a chamber musician, including with the group Kiosque. Mr. Desgagné teaches at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music and is a member of the board of directors of Maison Kekpart, a center for adolescents on Montreal’s south shore.
