For 150 years, McGill’s Department of Mining Engineering has been graduating students who have shaped the face of mining, both here in Canada and around the world. We are Canada’s oldest mining school, and although the mining industry has changed dramatically since our first student graduated in 1873, we continue to lead the way when it comes to excellence. Today, we are the top mining school in Canada, according to 2020 QS world ranking, and we continue to shine with a strong co-op program that offers our students solid work experience and industry connections while studying through three paid work terms.
To celebrate this exciting milestone, we are planning a series of events and initiatives to take place throughout 2021. As the landscape of what is possible during these unprecedented times is changing rapidly, please bookmark this page and check back regularly for updates on what’s happening.
