Description:

Version control has become an important part of modern computationally-inclined science. Git and Github are helpful for tracking your work, testing new ideas, collaborating with others, and sharing research progress and outputs.

In this workshop, we'll learn the basics of git on the command line - how to save a non-linear history of your work, how to interact with the Github web services, and how to collaborate with potentially remote peers.

This workshop is open to everyone, but space is limited.

Instructor: Rob Syme

Fee: $25 (seating is limited)
*Reimbursement is available to McGill students after attending the workshop.
