DESCRIPTION:Wanting He / ELECTRON TOMOGRAPHY\n\nWanting He is a Postdoctora
l Researcher at the McGill Facility for Electron Microscopy Research (FEMR
). Electron tomography (ET) enables the three-dimensional (3D) reconstruct
 ion of nano-structures from a series of two-dimensional (2D) projections a
cquired over a range of viewing angles\, providing significantly richer mo
rphological and structural information than conventional 2D imaging. In th
is talk\, Wanting will introduce the electron tomography techniques develo
ped at FEMR. These approaches enable 3D structural\, chemical\, and electr
onic property imaging of materials with nanometer and sub-nanometer spatia
 l resolution.\n\nChangyue Du / AC/DC-SCANNING ELECTROCHEMICAL MICROSCOPY\n
\nChangyue Du is a Ph.D. candidate in department of chemistry supervised b
y Prof. Janine Mauzeroll. Her Ph.D. research focuses on electrochemical pH
sensing and pH imaging using scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM).
SECM is an analytical electrochemical technique utilizing microelectrodes
which collect high-resolution material electrochemical properties within m
icron-scale distance to the sample surface. Changyue will be focus on work
ing principles and applications of SECM\, and how alternating current (AC)
-SECM can provide rich information compared to conventional direct current
  SECM.\n
