Madhukar Pai

Prof. Madhukar Pai, MD, PhD, FCAHS is a Canada Research Chair in Translational Epidemiology & Global Health at McGill University. He is Director of McGill Global Health Programs, and Director of the McGill International TB Centre. Prof. Pai serves on the STAG-TB committee of WHO, Geneva, the Scientific Advisory Committee of FIND, Geneva, and the Access Advisory Committee of Global Alliance for TB Drug Development, New York, among others. He has previously served on the Coordinating Board of the Stop TB Partnership, and was a Consultant to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for 8 years. He is on many editorial boards, including Lancet Infectious Diseases and PLoS Medicine. He’s a Member of the Royal Society of Canada, and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. His research is mainly focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, especially in high-burden countries like India and South Africa.
