Biography: 

Dr. Ioannis Ragoussis has a BSc/MSc and PhD in Biochemistry from University of Tuebingen. He is Head of Genome Sciences at the McGill Genome Centre responsible for the operation of its genomics platforms, technical developments and integration. He is Associated Professor at the Department of Human Genetics and in the Department of Bioengineering, since 2013. He was Head of Genomics at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford, from 2001-2013, and before that Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Reader in Medical Molecular Genetics, at King’s College London. He did his postdoc in Immunogenetics as EMBO and ICRF fellow with Dr. J. Trowsdale at the ICRF Laboratories, London. He established the first Single Cell Genomics Laboratory in the province and his lab is a member the CRUK Grant Challenge STORMing Cancer project as well as a number of Genome Canada, CFI and CIHR projects. He has >200 authored/co-authored publications.
