 te Research Division\, for his seminar titled 'Enabling Data-heavy diagnos
 tics for CMIP5 and CORDEX data: A tutorial'. Coffee will be served.\n\nAbs
 tract\n\nIn this tutorial\, I will present strategies and tools that I hav
 e developed to help scientists tackle the enormous amount of data made ava
 ilable through the ESGF. I will discuss how a strategy that forgoes the al
 l too familiar download-process-store approach to climate analysis can vas
 tly improve both the reproducibility and the scalability of these analyses
 . I will argue that with the release of the CMIP6 coming soon and its expe
 cted size in the hundreds of petabytes\, such a strategy might become nece
 ssary to enable progress in the realm of climate dynamics.\n
