  this year!\n\nAbout Maxime Picard-Deland:\n\nMaxime is a Medical Technolo
 gy Specialist at OpSens Inc\, a Quebec City based company that manufacture
 s medical instruments with fiber-optic sensors. He developed an interest f
 or multidisciplinary projects and biomedical application during his studie
 s in Mechanical Engineering at Laval University. His Master's degree invol
 ved growing living tissues from human cells and shaping them into aortic v
 alves\, to further test them in a mechanical heart simulator. Soon after b
 eginning at OpSens Inc.\, he was assigned to the fitting project of a new 
 guidewire dedicated to the implant of transcatheter aortic valves. He part
 icipated in every phase of the product development\, from shaping the very
  first prototypes on the corner of a table to assisting cardiologists duri
 ng the First-in-human clinical cases. Now\, he is doing conceptual work on
  new product ideas.\n
