DESCRIPTION:This one-day workshop is designed for educators and those who a
re interested in becoming an educator with a significant engagement in mul
tidisciplinary simulation-based education. The program will provide partic
ipants with a foundational background of how people learn\, the basic theo
retical background behind simulation-based education\, and the evidence fo
r the use of simulation-based education in practice. Participants will lea
rn how to implement deliberate practice into their educational activities
as well as improve their debriefing skills (and how to support their colle
agues on how to do the same). Co-learning with other leaders in simulation
-based education will allow for networking and creating shared opportuniti
es across the McGill community.\n\nBy the end of this workshop\, the parti
cipant will be able to:\n\n\n	Describe how people learn and the added value
of simulation\;\n	Outline the principles of effective debriefing for simul
ation-based education\;\n	Apply different methods of debriefing and describ
e the advantages/disadvantages of each approach\;\n	Discuss a variety of op
portunities and approaches for teaching and learning with simulation and o
utline best practices in each context.\n\n\nTo register\, complete the onl
ine registration form on our website.\n\nThis is a FREE course offered to
McGill University faculty members\, residents and fellows. Places are limi
