DESCRIPTION:Target audience: Educators who frequently develop and/or delive
 r simulation-based educational activities.\n\nThis one-day workshop is des
 igned for educators with a significant engagement in simulation-based educ
 ation.  The program will provide participants with a foundational backgrou
 nd of how people learn\, the basic theoretical background behind simulatio
 n-based education\, and the evidence for the use of simulation-based educa
 tion in practice. Participants will learn how to implement deliberate prac
 tice into their educational activities as well as improve their debriefing
  skills (and learn how to support their colleagues on doing the same). Co-
 learning with other leaders in simulation-based education will encourage n
 etworking and create shared opportunities across the McGill community.\n\n
  \n\n\n	Learning Objectives  \n\n	By the end of this workshop\, the particip
 ant will be able to:\n\n	\n		 Describe how people learn and understand the ad
 ded value of simulation\;\n		 Outline the principles of effective debriefing
  for simulation-based education\;\n		 Apply different methods of debriefing 
 and describe the advantages / disadvantages of each approach\;\n		 Discuss a
  variety of opportunities and approaches for teaching and learning with si
 mulation and outline best practices in each context.\n	\n\n\nThis is an Acc
 redited Simulation Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of C
 ertification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ca
 nada. You may claim a maximum of 7.5 hours for this activity.\n\nPlease no
