 a\, the annual Simulation Summit is a unique and practical interprofession
 al medical simulation education conference\, which annually attracts hundr
 eds of international simulation educators\, researchers\, health care prof
 essionals and other individuals engaged in the field of simulation.\n\nThi
 s year’s conference theme is Negotiating the Channels through Simulation. 
 The program features more than 20 innovative and practical professional de
 velopment workshops tailored towards interprofessional audiences\, includi
 ng:\n\n\n	How to deliver effective interprofessional simulation\n	Immersive 
 reality - Understanding\, creating\, and implementing a new frontier in me
 dical education\n	Learning from the bad and the good: Safety I and II in si
 mulation\n	Pearls for research: Raising the bar for studies of simulation-b
 ased education\n	Simulation based education and assessment: Exploring when 
 and why they may (or may not) work\n\n\nIn addition to interactive\, small
 -group workshops\, the 2018 Simulation Summit will feature three dynamic p
 lenary sessions from a diverse group of speakers\, including:\n\n\n	An open
 ing lecture from Peter Dieckmann\, PhD\, Dipl.-Psych.\, an organizational 
 psychologist working with the Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and
  Simulation (CAMES).\n	A panel of medical education experts discussing simu
 lation and its role in continuing professional development (CPD).\n	A closi
 ng lecture from Marlies van Dijk\, RN\, Innovation Lead\, Quality and Heal
 thcare Improvement at Alberta Health Services.\n\n\nThe conference will on
 ce again culminate with the popular SimTrek event\, where high-fidelity sc
 enario construction\, team leadership styles\, and debriefing will be on d
 isplay in a truly unique fashion.\n\nThe 2018 Simulation Summit provides a
 n incredible professional development opportunity for simulation educators
 \, physicians\, nurses\, and health professional educators with an interes
 t in simulation\; the ability to learn\, train and network alongside resea
 rchers and health care professionals from different institutions and disci
 plines is what makes Simulation Summit so valuable.\n\nThe knowledge trans
